Zydeco's Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Zydeco's Restaurant in Belle Chasse feels like entering a warm, familiar nook where the flavors of Louisiana’s coastal heritage unfold effortlessly. The pace is unhurried and inviting, as if the day’s demands pause to let you savor moments steeped in local tradition and genuine hospitality. The space hums with a comfortable energy — lively enough to remind you you’re in a beloved community gathering place, yet relaxed enough to enjoy a quiet meal or a shared feast with friends.
The atmosphere reflects a deep connection to the Gulf’s bounty, where every dish carries the earthy, briny essence of fresh seafood, patiently prepared and generously served. From the first bite of a charbroiled oyster to the last spoonful of rich bread pudding, meals here invite you to linger and explore the familiar favorites that have made Zydeco's a trusted local table. Conversations bloom easily at the tables, fueled by flavors like succulent boiled crawfish, indulgent seafood pastas, and the satisfying crunch of fried soft shell crab — all paired with the ease of sharing a cold beer or an inventive shot, adding a playful note to the experience.
This is the kind of place where servers wear their friendliness like a badge of honor, making you feel seen and welcome in a downhome environment that never tries too hard but always delivers. It’s a spot where the joy of eating is tied as much to the human moments — the smiles exchanged, the stories swapped over plates piled high — as to the food itself. There’s an honest warmth here, a sense that you’re part of something local and lasting, where the freshest catch is the start of an experience, not just a meal.

I am so upset I didn't come here sooner. I'm here for military training for the week and wow, the food here is absolutely amazing. I got the seafood gumbo, raw oysters, and the BBQ shrimp pasta. Everything was absolutely flavorful and amazing. The young lady waitress did an awesome job and was very friendly. I got the peanut butter chocolate pie to go and man, that was fantastic too. Very clean restaurant, very nice workers, and fantastic food. Really good pricing too. Very very impressed yall!

Great food. Only big downside is no free water. We dont drink sodas, first place i have ever been to without water. Food was good atleast and good enough portions for price. My daughter even stole my lobster bisque.

This was the first restaurant we went to after arriving in Louisiana. We are traveling and this restaurant gave us a great first impression of the food in the area. I can't express how great the customer service is here. Every person I interacted with met me with a welcoming smile, and were very courteous. The gumbo? Fantastic. The Shrimp? AMAZING. The sweet tea? Best I ever had. That in particular had us coming back the next day, where we took advantage of their snow crab boil meal. We had spectacular waitresses during both visits, one even showed us how to properly open up the crab legs and shrimp (is it obvious we're not from here?) We will 100% be back the next time we find ourselves in the area.

Be careful of the wait staff because they are all just a mess lol... I wish I could say I hate this place but in my 3 year stay in Louisiana they got ALOT of my money because the food is great and they treat you like family... The seafood is always fresh. Bar b que shrimp is addicting. And if you want a really good steak, tell them " The Brothers " recommended the place and you want EXTRA SEASONING on the steaks lol, That should get a reaction.

This is a good local spot for a boil. The boil plate was big enough for my wife and I. The food was good. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The bread pudding was amazing. We will come back. It just has a down-home vibe to it and a comfortable place.

Do yourself a favor…. forget the fancy restaurants and limelights of downtown New Orleans. Go to Zydecos! The seafood is out of this world good!! I had the “crabnet catch”. There is no way one person can eat all the food. Best sweet tea I’ve ever had! Ask for Ashley…. She was an amazing server who made everyone feel like they were her favorite local customer.
